The Answers You Need

FAQ

HOW DO I FIND OUT WHICH PROPELLER IS RECOMMENDED FOR MY BOAT?

There are a few pieces of information we need to to determine a proper selection. Once we have all this accurate information, a proper calculation can be made to determine your propeller. Complete the ‘Help Me Select a Propeller’ form here to find out what we recommend for your boat.

IS THERE A PROPELLER THAT WILL PERFORM BETTER ON MY BOAT?

Depending on the type of boating you do, there may be a propeller that is more suited to help you reach your boating goals. To determine if your existing propeller is your best option, complete the ‘Improve My Performance - Outboard / Sterndrive’ form here, or the ‘Improve My Performance - Inboard’ form here.

WHAT WILL A STAINLESS STEEL PROPELLER DO FOR MY BOAT?

A stainless prop will typically give you the best possible performance that your boat was designed to offer. You will often see a mile(s) per hour improvement at mid-range and wide open throttle. That would also mean an improvement in fuel efficiency overall.

HOW BADLY DAMAGED CAN MY PROP / LOWER UNIT BE BEFORE I NEED TO FIX IT?

Any damage to a propeller’s blades, whether bent or actual material missing, can and will affect your overall performance. A prop in a damaged state is unbalanced and therefore, over time, lower unit bearings will wear, seals can fail, oil can be lost, and water ingested resulting in potential major damage to your unit. Keep in mind that if damage is minor, repair cost will be priced according to the extent of damage, making it practical to repair.

HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT MY REPAIRS TO TAKE?

We understand that the boating season is short and vacation time is precious! We provide excellent turnaround times and you can expect your repairs to be completed within one week or less. We make it a priority to meet any deadlines and get our customers back out on the water as soon as possible. Remember, you should always carry a spare propeller because “the only time you require a spare is when you’re boating!”

WHAT TYPES AND SIZES OF PROPELLERS CAN YOU REPAIR?

We specialize in repairing aluminum, stainless steel, steel, bronze, and nickel bronze (nibral) propellers. With the use of our Prop Eye Laser Scanning and propeller repair equipment, we can blueprint and repair props to a high tolerance from as small as 10 inches to as large as 62 inches in diameter.
